GuardMyIP provides SSTP on standard port 443 (HTTPS). It is best way how to hide your internet activity like VoIP, Skype, Youtube, Facebook etc. behind one strongly encrypted TCP connection!

All your traffic will look like common HTTPS connection or any other SSL connection. You can choose custom port from following SSTP available ports:

  • 443 (HTTPS)
  • 465 (SMTPS)
  • 563 (NNTPS)
  • 636 (LDAPS)
  • 989 (FTPS data)
  • 990 (FTPS control)
  • 993 (IMAPS)
  • 495 (POP3S)
  • 80 (HTTP)

SSTP is currently supported by Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows server 2008

If that doesn't work try the manual install:

  1. Open the Control Panel on your computer, choose "Network and Internet" and then "Network and Sharing Center".

  2. Click on "Setup a new connection or network".

  3. Select "Connect to a workplace" and then click on the "Next" button.

  4. Click on "Use my Internet connection".

  5. Now enter one of the VPN server addresses that we've provided you (in the welcome email under SSTP) with in the "Internet address" field, then enter "" in the "Destination name". Click on the "Next" button.
    Please note - when entering the "Internet address" choose a server address from the welcome email that represents the internet experience you require. Eg if you want a secure US IP address & internet experience; enter one of the US SSTP server addresses and choose an easy to identify "destination name" eg " US SSTP". If you want mutiple options for connections you will need to repeat this manual installation for each server connection you require.

  6. Enter your account details - your User name and Password in the relevant fields. Tick the "Remember this password" box. Then connect to the VPN service by clicking on the "Connect" button.

  7. Click on "Close".

  8. Left click on network icon in your system tray then right click on "GuardMyIP SSTP" (or whatever name you have given your SSTP Connection) and choose "Properties".

  9. Click on the "Security" tab and choose the "Type of VPN" connection as "Secure Socet Tunneling Protocol (SSTP)". Then click on the"OK" button.

  10. Left click on the icon on your desktop panel and click on the "Connect" button.

  11. Check your GuardMyIP account user details and click on the "Connect" button.

  12. Your connection has now been established.

  13. You are now connected to a secure SSTP GuardMyIP server. You can disconnect and reconnect as often as you wish and set up multiple server connections for different IP server locations (see step 5.)

    You can specify server port address for example: (IMAPS port 993). See available SSTP ports here.
